About me

ABA-Consultancy is led by Erica Callaghan who was born, raised and educated in The Netherlands. She completed a BA in French and English and diploma in education and taught French and English in secondary schools in the Netherlands and Ireland. She moved to Ireland and became involved in Outdoor Education in Donegal and from there moved into catering and became a qualified chef. After a number of years she was offered a post as associate lecturer in the North West College in Derry. Whilst teaching in the College she designed courses for people with disabilities, mental heath problems, acquired brain injuries and felt she needed more back ground knowledge so went back to University and completed an honours degree in Psychology at the University of Ulster after that Erica was one of the first cohorts of the masters degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis at the University of Ulster in Coleraine.

Erica became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2010. Erica was employed by the Western Health and Social Care Trust in Northern Ireland as an Early Intervention Therapist for the Autism Service, a multi-disciplinary team for diagnosis and treatment for children with ASD. From there she moved to the Behaviour Support Service as a Behaviour Therapist working with people who have a learning disability and severe challenging behaviour.

Erica started her own consultancy to provide families the support they require to manage and teach their children. She provides training and support to schools, voluntary and charity organisations in Ireland and Northern Ireland. Since 2015 Erica has started providing expert witness reports for the courts.
